The ride of the Valkyries: was premiered in 1870 in Munich. It is the prologue of the 3rd act of the opera „The Valkyrie“. In this piece, the daughters of Wotan meet to travel to Valhalla, together with the fallen heroes. „The Valkyrie“ is the second part of Wagner’s „The Ring of the Nibelungs“. The other parts are „The Rhinegold“, „Siegfried“ and lastly, „Twilight of the Gods“.

Information about the composer Richard Wagner:
*22.05.1813 in Leipzig – † 13.02.1883 in Venice

Composer of multiple stageworks, which he described as musical dramas, such as „The flying Dutchman“, „Rienzi“, „Tannhäuser“, „Lohengrin“, „Parzifal“, „Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg“, „Tristan and Isolde“ „The Ring of the Nibelung“, as well as chamber music and symphonies.
